Hey, Hi, Hello!

What A Pleasure To Meet You-

Sure, there's a Get To Know Me section over there (⇢), but I thought it appropriate to introduce myself to those of you who don't already know me a bit more formally as well!

So, without further ado - Hi, I'm Abby!
It me and my kitten Rocky!
I've got another kitty, Finn, but he's a bit more camera-shy.

Professionally, I write, edit, and market, but I like to do a lot of different things for fun. I love watching whatever sport happens to be on but without a question, baseball is my favorite. And, thanks to my somewhat masochistic tendencies, my favorite teams are the Orioles, the Mets, and the Padres!

If you're curious how that happened, I don't blame you. I was born and raised in Baltimore, so despite their having a terrible record the majority of my childhood, the O's are my favorite team in all of sports. For added excitement, when I was little I told my mom that I needed to have an NL team too, so I chose ...the Mets! "Well, they're Orange and they're NOT the Yankees", and then when I got just a little bit older, I figured it was only logical to have a team to root for once all the east coast games wrapped-up, I picked... the Padres! (I couldn't pick another AL team, and the Chargers powder blue jerseys were beautiful, so I liked the Padres by association and by this time I was used to my teams not winning, so their less-than-marvelous track record didn't really bother me.) So yes, ladies and gentlemen, this means that my favorite teams are a combined 63/145 so far this season. Despite baseball not always treating me so kindly, though, I love it - I watch a minimum of a game a day during the season, I score nearly every game I go to (although I do sometimes get frustrated at NL games), and I'm on my way to reaching my life goal of going to every stadium before I turn 30.

Beyond baseball, I cook & bake, read, play bingo, and enjoy a lot of YouTube videos, cooking shows, murder mysteries, and podcasts. I find myself doing a lot of cooking, and I've never come across a recipe that I was afraid of (before hand, anyway... you can ask my college roommate about the great riced cauliflower incident of 2013). I'm a staunch advocate for the rights of the disenfranchised and if I could wave a magic wand and eliminate one problem, I would make sure that no child ever went hungry.

While I would love to editorialize on my life and the things that I love and find important, I don't really think that's something that you would necessarily find fascinating, so instead I've pulled together a 7th Grade style list of all of my favorite things, which you will find below!  Thanks so much for reading my things and at least pretending to be interested in my not-always-interesting diatribes, adventures & escapades, and unending sports-induced woes.

Thanks!
